My sudden, unexpected friends of IIHMR UNIVERSITY, JAIPUR
The most ideal time for this post would have been the 10th of May, the last day of our final residency, but then the words somehow came out today...So I thought that I should put this in the group before they fade away.
I am one of those persons who have many friends, and I cherish those friendships. I have managed to keep decades-old bonds viable; they call me the *fevicol bond* of the Class of '97 of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital! But this new lot of friends, some decades younger and a handful some years older, came suddenly into my life.
*Ode to New Friends, Some Younger, Some Older*
My new-found friends, with stories untold,
Some with fine wrinkles, some fresh and bold;
Together we have created a beautiful song,
Where each note unique, yet we all belong!
The younger hearts, like morning dew,
With dreams galore and ideas new;
They spark in me a youthful fire,
A zest reborn, a fresh desire.
The older souls, with wisdom and grace,
Doesn't let emotions come to the face;
It's good to feel their reassuring presence near,
With time-tested anecdotes - sharp and clear.
Together we all have been woven in a thread,
Of memories made, secrets revealed and words unsaid;
Laughters, lessons, fears, tears and aspirations shared,
Two years of memories - it seems as if we always cared!
So here’s to you - both the young and the wise,
With youthful steps or thoughtful eyes;
You've given me moments - bright and new,
And I am richer, thanks to you.
No matter years or decades that bind or sway,
You all are a chapter where the good things will stay.
Our hearts are now aligned in joy and pain,
Will always find their way to each other again....
