You walk with me...

On some lonely roads you walked with me,

While at a few cross roads you were nowhere to see.

Some went and met you and came back blessed,

And a few times I called you, but was left alone instead.

You seemed aloof, and I was left lonely in a crowd,

And in some moments of solitude, you were all around.

There were sojourns which I completed without your presence,

Though quite a few miles we walked together holding hands.

I thought you came to me only when you wanted to,

And the rest (of everything) you left me (alone) to do…

But underneath a mist kissed sky at the break of the day

Life smiled a little and seemed to say,

“You two are one, not separate souls,

Though at times I assign different roles.”

Some moments it took for for me to know and feel,

That love keeps me alive;it does not kill.

I realized that you are always within me,

Just as the blue water is always in the sea.

I know that even in your silence you love and you care,

That my name is whispered in each word of your prayer.

And there will be times when I will walk without you near,

But you will guide me through all, and I do not have to fear.

Miles still remain to be covered and there is so much to do,

And as I walk towards Life, your voice whispers,” I love you…..”
