Our Love

You asked me “How much do you love me ?”

I thought and wondered,

And at last I realized….

Feel my love (for you) in my tears and smiles..

That from here till infinity if you can count the miles.

The age of the earth if you count in seconds,

The prayer for you in my folded hands…

Each breath (of mine) till now and for the years to come,

If you can count them all…and even if you lose some….

Find the entire expanse of the universe,

And feel my love in a poetic verse…

Count the lives that are gone forever,

And the new lives that are deep within each river….

Depth of each ocean in every meter

The extent of darkness in the planet’s centre…

I love you this much , hope you hear

And from here till eternity, you will always

be near….                                                                                

With the depth of a sorrow, 

And with the strength of a vow;

And with the intensity of my passion,

Without caring to know how…..

In each creation of nature, and in each piece of art,

In every moment of my life, you play a part…

In the height of euphoria, and in the nadir of my tears

You hold me close, and take away my fears…

Beyond any logic and across all reasons,

In the light and dark, and in all seasons.

Among the struggles of each mundane act

In the midst of illusions, you are a fact..

I rose in your love, and never fell in it,

And we nurtured it together, bit by bit..

I found the traces in a silent promise

I saw its shadows, hidden among the green trees…

I sensed its fragrance in a wilted flower,

I traced its beauty in a sudden evening shower..

I treaded its depth in a blue, deep ocean

I touched its limits in every human… 

But I fail to judge and I refuse to measure,

The depth of your love; I just treasure…
