The Rainy Night
The night that Friday was moist and grey, but the sky was ready to burst
Dry the Earth was on that cloudy night, not a drop to quench its thirst…………..
Sat alone she in the darkness, waiting for a familiar voice, waiting for a friend…
Wanting to reach out and hold on to someone’s hand.
Lonely the night was, and how deep was the pain
An unsaid story, the aching heart, and the loneliness …time and again…
Along came the mist and then the rain, and with that came a sudden relief
And what she found a moment later will be hard for you to believe…………
Out of the darkness came a friendly voice, beckoning her to the zones forgotten
And she followed that voice in the darkness, leaving behind all her heart’s burden..
She followed the voice and came out to the rain, all drenched, wet and content,
And then came the beckoning from deep within,
“You are home, you are safe, this is where you truly belong.
Find your love inside yourself; it’s been there all along…..”
And she at last saw through the veil, and found the answer that had troubled her long…
She needed to love her inner self, and let the heart sing the summer’s song…………
